Greetings from Indiana!

We are here in our new home and finally getting settled in!
(And we have internet access WOO HOO!!!)

What an adventure it was!

Mommy and Everett flew into Indy on Friday morning the 27th. Everett slept during takeoff and landing and played the whole time in between. He did great for the most part except for one strange incident with the plane being out of bottled water. Seriously? 'Have mercy on these people' is all mommy thought as the little guy started to cry. They did have some juice however which held him over until we were on the ground (poor guy!). Grandma and Grandpa were there to greet us and ooohhh and aaahhh over the growing little guy. He was just a little bit bigger since the last time they saw him! haha.

Here is Everett in his winter coat because it was COOOLLLLDDD!!!!

Daddy and two of his Dallas buddies drove over night to get to Indy with all of Everett's toys (and the rest of mommy and daddy's stuff too!) A whole gang of folks were there to unload that stuffed truck and try to shove it all into our new house. Everyone laughed about Everett's room, saying you could tell which was his because the glow of the paint carried out into the hallway. Mommy thought they were being just a little dramatic, but not too much.

Ev sure was happy to see all of his stuff!

Since getting here we have had the chance to visit with lots of family and friends. Everett has been quite a hit! He loves JaKobi and Mike and thought that they were awfully funny. And he loves watching Uncle Dylan, he thinks he's pretty funny too. I'm sure we will have lots of photos and adventures to post so stay tuned. Next week is going to be great grandparents week as we meet up with Grandma Darene for breakfast on Tuesday and dinner with Grandpa Bob & Grandma Shirley on Friday. Mommy will be sure to bring the camera.

Goofing off with Great Aunt Suzie! Two of a kind.

Mondays are Dancing with the Stars nights so Grandma and mommy watch it together and dish.

During Dancing Uncle Dylan and Everett hung out and distracted us with their good looks.

Here is Everett with his godmother Emily, she comes to visit on Thursdays for Grey's Anatomy and sometimes in between episodes if we're real lucky!

We will also be posting photos of the house as we get everything together. Want to keep everyone 'in the loop'! Until then,
love you all!!!!

Long time no... blog?

To say that Mommy has been slacking is an understatement! I had no idea it had been so long. I guess so much has been going on with us that we have been a little side tracked. As all of you now know we are moving home to Indiana the last weekend of February. Everett and I actually leave in 20 days. 20!! I still cant believe it. For the record I am going to go pack after this. :-)

Everett & Daddy just hanging out!!

Mommy & her little man!!

As far as Everett goes he has been changing so much. Its unbelievable to see him transform into this little person. He continues to have such a wonderful personality. He's always so happy and those big blue eyes make him quite the charmer too. He is now taking rice cereal before bed and a few days a week he will have a breakfast of veggies with his bottle. So far he is loving carrots, peas and green beans. Our pediatrician warned that we should probably start off with veggies at first so that he doesn't get hooked on everything tasting sweet, so fruits are still in our future!

He is also growing like a weed. At his four month check up he weighed in at a little over 15 pounds and measured 25 1/2 inches long. He continues to be basically at the 50th percentile being just a bit longer for his age. He is loving sitting in his bumbo and playing in his high chair.
Most of all he is FINALLY getting comfortable with tummy time especially since he started rolling over so that way he spends no time actually on his tummy. Silly guy!

Around Christmas he caught on to a noise I was making with my mouth. We now call it blowing bubbles and since he started mimicking it, it has become his favorite thing. When he wakes up in the morning and is waiting for someone to get him he blows bubbles, when he jumps in his jumper he blows bubbles, and he LOVES when you blow bubbles back at him. It is absolutely hilarious and he loves that it gets a laugh most of the time. Speaking of laughing he has started doing a ton of it. And its the best kind of baby laughs, the deep in the belly that was the funniest thing ever kind of laugh. So satisfying!

Blowing bubbles yet again!!!

Mommy's newest favorite!!

We will update as soon as possible, which most likely will be March! AGH! We will be sure to post photos of our new house and especially some photos of Everett's new nursery and him visiting with my side of our family! He hasnt seen them since he was 6 weeks old and he'll be 6 months old. WOW!

Mommy reflects on one crazy year!!

Happy New Year to everyone!

2008 will be a tough one to beat seeing as how it was the best year of our lives so far. Thinking back on this day last year, I had passed up on a glass of wine having a secret hunch that on the next new year our lives would be completely different. And completely wonderful. I don't think I've ever been more right. It was a scary, exciting and emotional ride. Being blessed with the birth of Everett is something that I can not put into words nor the love that Brian and I have for him. I did want to share some of my favorite photos from the year, some you may have seen and some may be new to you, but they all hold a special place in my heart. I can only hope that everyone's new year is as great as our '08! Love you all

Santa Came!

Brian, Everett & I celebrated our first Christmas together this week and we had so much fun! Although Ev had a cold and slept till 10:45 on Christmas morning! Geez! Mommy and Daddy were up for two hours waiting on him. haha. Talk to us in four years huh? Santa spoiled the little man rotten, not to mention all Santa's helper elves aka The Grandparents! We first celebrated the holiday with Brian's family last Sunday. We met for brunch and then did gifts at the apartment. Cousin Sydney and Everett got so much fun stuff, it was very exciting. The biggest gift from Gramma Daphne & Grampa Mike was his new highchair! It is really going to come in handy and I'm sure it will make the blog photos more than a few times!

Here is Everett opening his first Christmas present ever with Grampa Mike!

He didnt quite know what to think...

On Christmas Eve, we opened gifts over the phone with Grandma & Grandpa B and Uncle Dylan! They got him lots of cute clothes and toys too. And Uncle Dylan picked out one special gift for his nephew....
Taking a look at the Merry Christmas Curious George book that Uncle Dylan got for Everett before bed on Christmas Eve!

Here he is Christmas morning with Daddy

Then with Mommy

Posing with his stocking!

He liked the paper and watched Mommy and Daddy open each one of his gifts!

The cool carseat toy from Mamaw & Papaw! (he loves it!)

Santa's big gift to Everett, a Jumper! He and Daddy were both very excited :-)

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, spent with friends and family! We want everyone to know how much we miss and love them too and that we are constantly thinking of you. Have a safe and Happy New Year.
'08 will be hard to beat.

St. Nicholas (or Nikolaus) Day!

It has always been a tradition in my family that on Dec. 5th you place your shoes by the door and St. Nicholas, the patron saint of children, will leave you gifts in them. This is the traditional German celebration of Santa Claus and we celebrate it because of our strong German roots. I'm pretty sure it all started with Everett's Great Great Grandma Willis and she did it then when his Great Grandpa Bruner was little, but now that I think of it I always just assumed that. huh. Anyway, we left Everett's boots out and he got some goodies! Thought I would share the picture, he looks like such a big boy sitting on the couch :-)
